Top 5 Social Apps Performance on Android in the UK - Q4 2024

In the fourth quarter of 2024, the top social apps on the Android platform in the United Kingdom showed interesting trends, as observed through Sensor Tower's data.

TikTok - Videos, Shop & LIVE experienced a significant increase in weekly revenue, climbing from approximately $1.2M at the start of October to around $1.8M by the end of December. Weekly downloads fluctuated, peaking at about 85K in the last week of December, while weekly active users hovered around 5.7M.

Threads saw its weekly downloads start at 68K, dipping to 44K mid-quarter, before rising back to 52K by year-end. Active users steadily increased from 2.1M to nearly 2.4M over the quarter.

Facebook maintained a stable revenue stream, averaging around $45K weekly, with downloads peaking at nearly 59K in late November. Active users remained consistent at about 20M throughout the quarter.

Instagram showed a slight upward trend in revenue, closing the quarter with approximately $32K per week. Downloads were steady, reaching up to 52K, while active users consistently hovered around 8.9M.

Bluesky experienced a surge in downloads in early November, hitting 103K, although it tapered off to 11K by the end of December. Active users increased significantly, peaking at 352K in mid-November.
